Bloom & Spine Co. was named in honor of Barbie & Stephanie - the “B & S” behind the story. What began as a shared love for books, comfort, and connection grew into a dream built with heart, community, and a little bit of magic.
Bloom & Spine Co. was created from a deep love of stories, community, and the kind of books that stay with you long after the final page. What started as a passion for reading and connecting with fellow book lovers slowly turned into the dream of building a cozy online indie bookstore that feels warm, welcoming, and personal — like getting a book recommendation from a friend who just gets your reading taste.
We specialize in curated romance, thrillers, romantasy, and fantasy reads, not just from BookTok favorites, but also from hidden gems written by indie authors that we believe deserves a spot on your shelf. Whether you love emotionally wrecking romances, magical worlds, swoony tension, or thrillers that keep you up all night, Bloom & Spine Co. was built with readers like you in mind.
We’ve always believed that books have a way of bringing people together. Bloom & Spine Co. is our little corner of the internet that is dedicated to doing exactly that. Meet the Founders
Barbie
Hi! I’m Barbara Cruzado, but everyone calls me Barbie.
Born and raised in Miami-Dade, I’m a proud mama of 4 amazing kiddos, dog mom to 2 fur babies, and married to a U.S. Marine veteran. By day, I’m a full-time real estate agent with a bachelor’s in business helping people find places to call home, but outside of contracts and closings, my true escape is books.
My reading roots began with The Baby-Sitters Club, but Goosebumps stole my heart and sparked my love for thrillers. Now I’m all about mystery, suspense, unexpected twists, and books that keep me up way too late.
Throw in some Disney magic and you’ve basically described my personality!
Steph
Hi. I am Stephanie Torres but known as Steff in the book world and to my family and closest friends.
I was born in Queens, NY, but moved to Miami at 3 months of age. So, I am basically a Miami girl through and through. I am married, proud fur mama, and my husband and I are in the process of adoption to grow our family. I work full-time in healthcare as a nuclear medicine clinical specialist, and outside of that, I also work closely with authors as a PA and provide a variety of different author services.
Books have always been my escape. I love everything about romance novels, especially cowboy, sports, and dark romances. I just love the kind of stories that leave you kicking your feet from happiness and screaming for more. If there’s tension and banter, then I’m most likely already obsessed and making it a part of my whole personality. I read thrillers as palette cleansers.
When I’m not working or reading, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family and friends, soaking up that Florida sun at the beach or pool, at Disney because I am a Disney girl, and planning content, trips, and anything for my book clubs.
